Support Port Glasgow 2025 to make a difference in your town
Port Glasgow is still described by many as an old shipbuilding town. For many young people the town feels like a placeholder, somewhere that once was something and is waiting to be something else. Port Glasgow doesn't lack resources it lacks resourcefulness.
Our mission is to empower the hardworking, creative and talented people of Port Glasgow to realise the exciting opportunity that's in front of them. The rebuild of Port Glasgow wont come from the council, they can't open a shop or a factory. No massive external companies are queuing at our door. The rebirth of Port Glasgow has to come from us, it's people.
Using 2025 as a year of celebration for the 250th anniversary of Port Glasgow gives us time to celebrate our heritage, take stock of where we are and reimagine a future for Port Glasgow. We need to stop waiting for permission to be a vibrant town again. We need to stop waiting on someone else to come and save us. Nobody is coming. Time to get the sleeves rolled up and take responsibility for ourselves.
Get involved for the preparation for the the anniversary of the best wee town in the West of Scotland - come help us get stuck in.
